Definition of Synchronous motor-:
A synchronous motor is a electrical machine it convert electrical power to mechanical power & when an alternator may operate as a motor by connecting its armature winding to a 3-phase supply then it is called a synchronous motor. These type of motor is operates at synchronous speed, & it is electrically identical with an alternator or a.c generator. When an alternator may operate as a motor by connecting its armature winding to a 3-phase supply.

What is Stator of a synchronous motor-:
This is outside part of the synchronous motor, which houses 3-phase armature winding in the slots of the stator core & received power from a 3-phase electric supply. Stator of the motor that create a magnetic field which rotates in time with the oscillations of the line current.
What is Rotor of a synchronous motor-:
This is inside part of the synchronous motor, a rotor which set of salient poles excited by direct current to form alternate North & South poles. The rotor with permanent magnets or electromagnets turns in step with the stator field at the same rate and as a result, provides the second synchronized rotating magnet field of any AC(Alternating Current) motor.
